Nordre Ekre Gård, Heidal the fine flavour...
Marit Ekre and Øyvind Johansen, welcome you to their farm hotel and restaurant. The farm is situated in the storied parish of Heidal, and offers both first-rate cuisine as well as lodging in restored traditional log cabins.
There are eight cabins on the farm with altogether 29 beds. You can sleep in a romantic canopy bed by a traditional soap-stone fireplace in the old kårhus, or spend the night in the stabbur loft. In the farm library you can relax with book and a freshly brewed espresso. We also have locales for meetings with all modern facilities.
The stabbur has a cosy and friendly café and farm boutique, featuring home-made delicacies: fruit conserves, oils and vinegars, and baked goods. For those who are either hungry or just keen on a cup of coffee, a simple lunch or a hot drink and a quick bite are available. The farm store boutique is open Wednesdays through Sundays, between noon and 4 pm, during the period beginning July 1 and ending August 17; other times by prior arrangement.
We are proud of our kitchen, and the farm restaurant holds the secret to why so many guests keep returning to Ekre. We welcome parties and groups year-round, and during the summer we serve both overnight guests as well as those staying longer our 3 to 4 course menu. Just remember to book a table in advance!
